South Coast Harvest Experience

Accessing local seasonal South Coast food and wine has never been easier with the launch of the South Coast Harvest Experience, part of the Hawkesbury Harvest Farm Gate Trail Map (7th edition). The new edition of the Map incorporates seven regional food trails to allow people to experience local food and wine.
Launched on 27 June 2011, the new South Coast trail showcases 23 places to enjoy fresh local foods and wine in the Kiama and Shoalhaven districts.

Once you leave suburbia, no visitor could fail to notice the lush pastures, contented cows, the green hills that roll down to the sea and the spectacular scenery of the South Coast region.
Enjoy sampling the best of South Coast produce. You can pick up fresh oysters and local seafood, indulge in chocolate treats,wander through olive groves, visit wineries and see what a bit of community spirit can achieve in the garden. Enjoy seasonal fruit and vegetables, either fresh from the grower, or hand crafted into delicious preserves. Chat with local farmers and find out how their fresh produce is grown. Why not stay a while and enjoy the local produce as part of your experience.
Take a magical round trip back through the beautiful Kangaroo Valley, join a bus tour, continue on down the coast towards Batemans Bay, relax at one of our uncrowded beaches, or take a slow bushwalk. Don’t miss the Kiama Coast Walk, which stretches 22km from Minnamurra to Gerringong.

| Continuing further south, take the time to stop in the towns and enjoy South Coast hospitality. Producers here will continue to delight. Imagine the berry burst flavour as you bite into that first dew moistened blueberry, raspberry or strawberry. Delight in the crunch as you sample the day’s first picked vegies right off the farm.
Visit road side stalls for seasonal fresh peaches, nectarines and plums. Take in a winery, relax and enjoy the region as you chat to a vigneron and soak up the best that the South Coast can offer.
