The Kiama Show Society invites wine lovers from the Illawarra to stimulate their eyes, nose and tastebuds by attending the 7th Annual Kiama Regional Wine Show Public Tasting and Awards Presentation Reception. Have the opportunity to taste more than 100 different regional wines and discuss wines with award winning winemakers and vignerons.

The judging will take place on Thursday September 9, and will open to the public on Friday only between 5.30pm - 7.30pm.

Tickets for the Tasting and Awards Presentation is $20.00 per person (over 18s only), and includes a light supper. Purchase tickets from the Kiama Visitors Centre, Blowhole Point, Phone 02 4232 3322.

The Surfside Bowls Carnival is open to all Bowls Australia registered ladies or men. Registration must be completed by Friday, August 20th and the entry fee for each team includes lunch and is: September 17th mixed triples (three bowls) $66; September 18th ladies triples (three bowls) $66; September 19 men's triples (three bowls) $66; and September 20 mixed fours $88.

A raffle will also be running with prizes donated by sponsers and is open to any club members or guests.

David Pereira and Tamara Cislowska in Concert. During the last thirty years David has established himself as an outstandingly versatile cellist with appointments to top professional positions. For eleven years, he was the cessist of the Australia Ensemble, before spending seven years as Principal Cellist of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and three years as Principal Cello with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. During his recital in Kiama, he will be accompanied by acclaimed young pianist Tamara Cislowska, who will also play some solos.

Nestled in the foothills of the Illawarra Escarpment is the beautiful Jamberoo Valley Lodge. It will be the venue for Folk enthusiasts when they gather for a relaxing one day folk festival in the wonderful ambience of the beautiful Illawarra Rainforest, to hear music and verse performed by a great array of renowned international and local performers. Artists include; Riogh, Maria Forde, Shortis & Simpson, Stetson Family, Vince Brophy, Bowral House, Tribal Jewels, John Broomhall, Jim Haynes, Bob Campbell, Zorba's Kefi, Wongawilli, Bowralhouse, No Such Thing, Wollongong Welsh Choir, Wollongong Conservatorium Orchestra.

There will be 25 concerts with acts from 8.30am running through to 7pm in the evening with 5 venues to choose from. There will be food and drink available and free parking. The Illawarra Rose Society invite fellow rose lovers to visit the picturesque town of Jamberoo for The 2010 Spring Rose Festival.

See Australia's champion roses exhibited at the Municiple Hall at Jamberoo and take time to explore the spectacular region and unique tourist attractions such as the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk and the Minnamurra Rainforest and Waterfalls.

The roses are viewable to the public from 12noon - 5pm on Saturday and 9am - 4pm on Sunday.
